Abstract

Achieving economic development is one of the most important reasons that has made the curriculum of the Economic-Professional Realm of Education the focus of attention. The main goal of this research is also to present a new formulation of the curriculum approach in the Economic-Professional Realm of Education for achieving economic development. Therefore, the main question of this research is: What is the development-oriented curriculum from the perspective of education in the Economic-Professional Realm of Education? Undoubtedly, to explain the issues of development, one must base one’s explanation on a specific theoretical foundation, otherwise it will cause a lot of human and material capital to be wasted without necessarily achieving any result. Therefore, the theoretical foundation of the research was based on the theoretical system of institutionalism, and using Schubert’s “Speculative Essay” method, it dealt with the development-oriented curriculum. This method is a kind of meta-analysis that a researcher with insight uses as a tool for clarification instead of a set of statistical rules. Based on the findings of this research, the development-oriented curriculum in the economic-professional realm of education is a curriculum that follows the approach of technovation education or the cultivation of technovation wisdom. The conclusion of the present research is that the formal education system and its curricula, to achieve the goals of education in the professional-economic realm, should replace the emphasis on technical-vocational education with technovation education. Therefore, by establishing the curriculum of technovation education, along with the removal of technical-vocational education from the agenda, one can hope for the provision of economic development opportunities in the country. In other words, technovation education is a story of the sublime mission of the official education system and its curricula, to facilitate development and transition from the underdevelopment situation of the country.
